RE DEFINE · RE LIVE · RE DEVELOP

At Agami Realty, redevelopment goes beyond building homes. It is also an act of cultural stewardship. Before drafting floor plates, our team immerses itself in the neighbourhood's history, engages with longtime residents, and collaborates with local artists to uncover the traditions and stories that give the place its soul. These insights then shape the design itself, ensuring each project reflects both the past and the future.

Nowhere is this philosophy more evident than at Kalanagar, Bandra East — the location of Agami Eternity. Established in 1960 under the visionary leadership of painter V.N. Adarkar and then Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan, Kalanagar was conceived as an artists' colony, a sanctuary for Mumbai's creative minds. Its 36 modest cottages housed some of India's most celebrated painters, including K.K. Hebbar, N.S. Bendre, and P.A. Dhond, and over time the enclave blossomed into a culturally rich community of artists, writers, filmmakers, and thinkers.

In reimagining this historic neighbourhood and to retain its creative legacy, Agami Realty has sought not just to redevelop but to honour its artistic spirit. Agami Eternity, designed by renowned architect Reza Kabul of ARK Reza Kabul Architects, has been conceived as a living gallery. More than a hundred curated artworks are woven into its lobbies and corridors, and a bespoke sculpture by architect-turned-sculptor Arzan Khambatta serves as a striking tribute to Kalanagar's creative legacy. Here, art is an everyday experience, ensuring the neighbourhood's cultural essence lives on.

This commitment to cultural continuity extends beyond Kalanagar. In Bandra East's Legends, for example, design inspiration comes from the iconic MIG Cricket Club, which has long anchored community life. Pavilion-style decks open onto the ground, while a rooftop terrace doubles as a spectator stand, turning private balconies into front-row seats for Mumbai's favourite pastime. Even in the details — from reserving rooftops for festival gatherings to commissioning wayfinding murals by neighbourhood painters — Agami ensures that every space feels familiar to returning residents while offering the comforts of modern living.

By translating each site's cultural identity into architecture, art, and everyday rituals, Agami ensures redevelopment goes beyond square footage. It renews the very essence that makes a community worth coming home to — preserving legacies while shaping a future that honours them.
